We finally made it. CARHENGE.
Nebraska was very long, somewhat flat, with some rolling hills, very windy, and hot. It was a dry heat- 105' didn't feel quite like 105' in Ohio, but it was still HOT!
As we drove we passed at least 20 trains, 128 cars each, hauling coal. We found out that lots of the coal we use doesn't come from West Virginia, and comes from open pits rather than underground shafts.
I'm sure there are lots of stories about Carhenge, but I think the most interesting one would be "WHY?" Some future anthropologist might do her thesis on it (maybe KAYLEE)- Not enough space to share my theories here!!
As everyone knows, Bob is such a motorhead (NOT...) he just had to explain the pieces and parts we were seeing. After all, we don't get to see the underside of a car all that often!
And there were other pieces d' ART!
ON TO HOT SPRINGS SD!
