Coeur d'Alene, Idaho v. 89

Just past Spokane, Washington in the skinny northern section of Idaho is a beautiful lake and town - Coeur d'Alene.  I just read that Patty Duke and Dennis Franz live here- didn't see them.

We rode the Centennial bike trail to the end at Higgins Point.  There, we played around with Leopold. He represents people who enjoyed the area in 1890, when Idaho became a state.  This trail started in Washington State to celebrate its centennial in 1989, then extended into Idaho for its centennial the next year.

Along the way, we stopped at a public playground.  When we said no to Becca's question, "Am I too old for this?", we quietly celebrated giving her another year of childhood.

Bob and Becca thought my helmet hair looked pretty funny.

The trail followed the river almost to the end of the lake, where we watched a hotdogging jet skier.  I bet this place is beautiful in the winter too.

On the way back we enjoyed the fitness stations.

We were more proficient at some than others...

We ate lunch at Fire- only because one of our favorite restaurants in Cleveland is called Fire. Outstanding pizza and salads!  Great atmosphere too.

I know it's been "found" before, but Coeur d'Alene was an unexpected delightful discovery for us!
