Monument Circle Indianapolis
Indianapolis is the first place Bob and I lived in the US after we were married. By the time we came back from our first duty station together in Germany, we already had Bobby and Maria. We had not visited for quite a while, and boy, has it changed!

The sleepy, roll up the streets after dark downtown had just started to wake up, Union Station was in the development process, and the Colts arrived after their clandestine escape from Baltimore in the 4 years that we lived there. Now, downtown is hoppin'! There were at least 35 motorcycles parked on the circle. So much to do. We ate at one of our favorites that is still open- The Old Spaghetti Factory- 2 blocks south of Monument Circle. Afterwards, it was the perfect time to take a horse and buggy ride around town.

Our lives changed there too, as we bought our first house, and Bob and I both decided at different points in time to leave the active Army- he to medical sales and I to parenting and the Army Reserve. Thus we toured our old neighborhood. 3 streets, 3 loops around with the RV. Hoping nobody got the wrong idea about us strangers driving slowly around the neighborhood, we did not take photos. I
was happy that the shrubbery I planted 20 years ago still looked pretty good! I'm normally a pretty terrible landscaper. We reminisced about the neighbor across the street who hooked a chain from his pick up to the old 30 year old shrubs to rip them out...

Uncle Godfrey and Uncle Jerry each had one of these filled with Hot Wheels!

The water exhibits are so fun!
The Children's Museum is still there too! We rediscovered why Bobby, Maria and Danny loved it - so much to see and do. Hot Wheels, Lego, and Dow, among others, all sponsor fun, hands on exhibits. They have added an entire front building while incorporating and enhancing the existing building. We saw a great play about pirates too. We thought we were going to see a movie, and the play was so much better- what a happy surprise when we entered the theater and saw the sets!
