On to Michigan v. 29

I already know Michigan needs more than one post.  So much beauty, so much history, so much fun!

We traveled by ferry from Manitowoc, WI to Ludington, MI.  The SS Badger is the last of 6 ferrys that were first used to transport rail cars across.  We chose this one because it could have taken the RV- it is that big.  Turned out that Manitowoc is less than an hour from Green Bay, so it still fit in just fine.
SS Badger

It was a fun trip- Becca explored the ship, watched Happy Feet 2 in the little theater, and played Badger Bingo.

It was funny- I had to go buy a t-shirt because it was so hot the first half of the trip, then as soon as I bought it, the wind came up and dropped the temperature 10-15 degrees and the sweatshirt went back on!  We sat near a group of teachers having a last fling before school started.  It reminded me so much of my parents' friends.  My Dad finished his degree when I was in 7th grade, and started long-term subbing in my high school.  They made great friends, and would travel with a big group of teachers and spouses.  Happy memories.

We arrived in Ludington and were on the road to visit the Molten's in Glen Lake within 20 minutes.
