Bob’s Highlights for Segment 2
Boy am I behind.
Wrigley Field--not only did we sit with the bleacher bums, and
get 2 baseballs, Becca got to watch
a Bullpen session with her favorite team- the Cincinnati Reds. We watched for 45 minutes as coaches helped 2
pitchers with their curve balls. One of the
pitchers, Homer Bailey, ended up throwing a “no hitter” at the end of the
year. Many thanks to Pat Brennan for
getting us on the field 4 hours before the game!
Wisconsin:
The Jelly Belly tour and the cheese factory tour- a great
way to spend a rainy day.
Choice between a meaningless Brewers game and a pre-season
Browns/Packers game at Lambeau Field? Lambeau.
Meeting Cleveland Brown Joe Thomas’ family and tailgating with them. Best scalping experience ever. Becca getting gloves, wristbands and hat from
Browns players and coaches after the game.
Thanks to Conways and Coach Nick (and everyone else who offered!) for
the jerseys. We sure stood out in the
sea of green and yellow!
Michigan:
SS Badger ferry across Lake Michigan
Weekend with Don and Patty- always fun- Becca wins the Ping
Pong Olympics; dinner at Funistrada- always tasty! Becca visits Cherry Republic
and adds to its treasury.
Camping at Sleeping Bear Dunes- Best night of stars over
Lake Michigan; driving through the tunnel of trees was beautiful; dinner at
Legs Inn at the end of the tunnel of trees was a great meal!
Mackinac Island- Bicycles/Fudge/Burgers- more Fudge! Moonlight minigolf; ghost tour and midnight
snacks- great Father/daughter time.
On to Detroit:
Tigers game in the “Last Row”- Becca makes new friends at
every ballgame. Seeing my first college
roommate- Eddie O’Neill and his beautiful wife Mary- great to reminisce.
Back home for the Great Geauga County Fair. First year that Becca exhibits, and she takes
home a gold, silver and bronze. Front
row seats at the demolition derby!
