Becca Blog v. 7 The US Capitol

Hey it's Becca, sorry I haven't blogged in a while. But it's OK because I'm starting up again! yay!

Becca and big brother Bob at the Capitol

Today I'm going to talk about when I toured the capital building. Our tour guide, Mark, was very nice. He showed us lots of cool stuff like the House Chamber (the room where the congressmen vote), the whisper spot, and the center of the building.
At the center
The whisper spot is in a room where they used to hold meetings, but it had weird acoustics, so the one person in a certain spot could hear everything very clearly, but everyone else just heard muffled voices. Later, he showed us a chapel, the "candy desk", and I turned the page in the Oxford dictionary. The "candy desk" is in the back row, on the Republican side of the Senate chamber. It means that the Senator sitting at that desk must have a well stocked supply of candy from his home state in his desk and is responsible for distributing it at certain times. I had sooo much fun in the Capitol building that day.

I also learned many interesting things, but I think the most important question is this: "Would you rather be a Senator or have your face on a bobble head?" I would answer, "Bobble head." A Senator would answer, "I'm a Senator, I can have both."
