Space Camp
Last week I went to space camp, and
it was one of the most exiting things I'd ever done! I did lots of fun
stuff like the Manual Maneuvering Unit, which is the only simulator at space
camp that is not based on one of NASA's.

There is also the a simulator called
the 1/6 gravity chair, it simulates walking on the moon. The third, and most
likely known to you is the Multi Axis Trainer (the
spinning, seemingly out of control, sphere looking thing that simulates
breaking into the atmosphere from outer space)

ya, that. We also did
two missions the shuttle mission, and the lunar mission. In the shuttle mission
I was in mission control, and in the lunar mission I was the commander. During
the shuttle mission (that, by the way, we were getting graded on) my friend
Mike insisted on telling a joke about gatorade, but I won't bore you with the
details. Then, on the lunar mission, being the goofball that he is, Mike tells the same joke, and
then, as if the situation couldn't get any goofier, he gets my
other friend, Yash, (above in
MAT) to play rock paper scissors during the mission. Boys, I'll never
understand them! but then again, us girls are pretty crazy too!

We also rode lots of simulators, built a cube under water, and
launched model rockets that failed miserably, but Stephanie got her explosion. Last but not least, graduation. During graduation, our team won the Most Spirited award and the Best Mission Patch
award

Our Mission Patch
All in all my time at Space Camp was wonderful, and I would definitely
recommend this experience to everyone that I know. |
