Jan and Becca got a break from the motor home. We rented a"little" place in Ft. Myers Beach- still one of our favorite places. We rented the place because it was across the street from the library. The number of times we visited the library? Zero- what were we thinking?
The Ice Cream Man- AKA "leatherback" is still alive and kicking. We have seen him on the beach selling ice cream for the last 25 years.
Key West was fun- our first time there.
-beautiful sunset
-fun day on the "do it all" boat.
-small town circus. The ring master told the crowd that the "smart children" buy balloons early- don't get stuck with the orange balloons. Then the balloon guy comes out with 102 balloons with the top 5 being orange...A mad rush of kids ending with a little boy crying because there were only orange ones left- awful!
Which is better:
1-taking off on water in a little sea plane OR
2-landing on the water in a little sea plane.
Both are very cool, as was our pilot (Jimmy Buffett's brother?). When was the last time your pilot wore shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and...no shoes?
The Dry Tortugas was very cool. What a story- poor Dr. Mudd!
Becca had a great time training with the dolphins at Discovery Cove. Her trainer was best friends with one of Becca's instructors at Space Camp- small world.
It was great to see Fred DiBella (my Tac officer at West Point) at MacDill Air Force Base. He was a great help in getting me through West Point. He always believed I would make it and that was all I needed. Thanks again, Fred.
