Air Force Academy v. 17

Colorado has so much to offer...  We visited the US Air Force Academy with the idea that we would ride bikes to see everything.  Everything is pretty much in one place, so we walked.  The movie in the visitor center inspired Becca to consider going there, and the display on Cadet Falconry Club was awesome- made her fret over which type of engineering she wanted to do (as a Cadet)!

The tour consisted of a walk to the Cadet Chapel, from which you could see the entire Cadet Area, then an in-depth tour of the Chapel.  It is majestic.
The shell of the Chapel was provided by the government.  All the decor and furnishings have been donated.  Interesting how they "stacked" the denominations (according to % of the Corps of Cadets).  The Protestant Chapel inhabits the upper portion- from the top of the steps to the tip of the spires.  The Catholic Chapel is in the space below- the tour guide said there is an intentional "catacomb" effect.  The altar area is decorated with Italian marble.
Below the Catholic Chapel is the Jewish Chapel, which is round, and has items donated from the Israeli Defense Forces (and others).

There is also a Buddhist Chapel, which started out as a non denominational/quiet space, but has only been used by the Buddhists, so now it is the Buddhist Chapel.
