Las Vegas v. 13

We let Becca set the pace in Las Vegas.  While for the most part it is not a place for kids, we found some fun things to do.  She loved the adventure dome at Circus Circus.  It has an indoor roller coaster, a water flume type ride and some other carnival rides, and lots of games to spend your allowance on.  We went to Mass at the Guardian Angel Cathedral on the Strip next to the Encore (Danny Thomas donated one of the stained glass windows).  We saw the movie BRAVE, and went to the M&M store - 4 floors of M&M themed stuff!  Bob kept saying, "I just don't get it..."
We took Bec for a walk on the Strip to see the lights and fountains.  I had some trepidation about this part of the trip. Bob and I have been to Vegas.  A walk down the Strip means walking by hundreds of people with T shirts reading, "GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS" who are handing out cards with pictures of women with phone numbers to arrange a "meeting".   It means seeing people dressed and doing things unlike anything she's exposed to in our little Hudson "bubble".  So off we went...  While we had to come up with some explanations, as Bob held Becca's hand, and I walked behind them in the crush of people, I noticed that almost all of the "GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS" people saw Bob and Becca and took a step back or left them alone. For what it's worth...

We saw the best 7th of July fireworks show (Ceasars Palace), as it was accompanied by the fountain show at the front of the Bellagio.  I'm not sure if it was by design, but they complemented each other brilliantly!

We took in a few more rides at the Adventure Dome and Bob stimulated the Vegas economy through "Let It Ride".  We were happy to know that our air conditioning worked when we got back to the RV Park at Nellis Air Force Base, where we stayed.
